Scott Stafford is the owner of Stafford Sound, located in Trabuco Canyon, California. Scott began his career in his mid-teens volunteering for his local Church. A few months after starting his volunteer work, he was offered a part time position on the weekends and as needed on week nights.
Early in his career, audio gear was still analog, with the integration of digital consoles starting to make an appearance a few years into his career. Scott went from working on Midas analog consoles to Avid’s Profile and SC48 desks, as well as the occasional Yamaha M7 and LS9.
After advancing through the paces at his local Church, Scott was offered a job with the Walt Disney Company in Anaheim, working at both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. Scott spent a few years working in various show positions and install jobs around the resort. After a few years with Disney, Scott had made a few outside connections and decided to leave WDC to pursue a career as a freelance sound engineer.
With Scott’s previous work as a sound tech, he progressed into the freelance world quite quickly. Soon becoming first call on the call list for the various production companies he freelanced with as an A1.
Since entering the freelance world, Scott continues to remain competitive in the industry by studying for a DANTE certification as well as taking courses in RF coordination.
